Cellar for 15 years or more. Decant for up to an hour before serving. Founded in 1997 by a trio of talented wine-makers, Vilafonté winery produces some of South Africa's highest-quality wines. It is located in the Simonsberg Mountains, an appellation with a bona fide claim to fame. The oldest soil in the world can be found here, providing an ancient foundation for stellar vines. Vilafonté grapes are sourced exclusively from vineyards owned by the winery. Early in the winery’s life, wine-maker Zelma Long realised that their vineyards gave rise to two different styles of Bordeaux blend- the first was big and powerful, giving rise to Series M.
